Job Purpose:
The Senior Metrics & Data Analyst – Engineering / Assessments supports naval operational readiness by analyzing engineering training performance, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to improve ship readiness and training effectiveness. This role provides subject matter expertise in engineering and damage control training programs, supports assessment activities for ships reporting to CNSG-C, and develops data-driven insights to enhance training outcomes and maintenance readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Provide training support and technical assistance for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems for ships reporting to CNSG-C.
- Manage project lead schedules and prepare supporting presentations for engineering and damage control training events.
- Coordinate and support training programs including:
- Engineering Classroom and Practical Training (MOB E)
- Damage Control Classroom and Practical Training (MOB D)
- Damage Control Material Assessments (DCMA)
- Engineering and Damage Control Limited Training Teams (LTT)
- Engineering Critical and Non-Critical Program Management
- NAVOSH Program Management
- Gas Free Engineering
- Damage Control Program Management
- Engineering Safety Precautions
- Maintenance and Material Management (3M)
- Readiness Events (RE2, RE5, RE6, RE7)
- Material Inspections (MI)
- Maintain a repository of training references and manage qualification processes for assigned CNSG-C N44 training personnel.
- Monitor and report ship training readiness status, identifying challenge areas and performance gaps.
- Conduct analysis to determine root causes of recurring training issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support readiness assessments and training evaluations for ships operating within the CNSG-C area of responsibility.
- Participate in intermittent underway periods aboard Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) or other naval vessels operating under CNSG-C administrative control in the Fifth Fleet Area of Operations (5FLT AOR).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of naval engineering and damage control training programs including MOB E, MOB D, DCMA, LTT, NAVOSH, Gas Free Engineering, 3M, Readiness Events, and Material Inspections.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience developing metrics, analyzing readiness data, and identifying root causes impacting CNO Availability and training readiness.
- Experience supporting naval training assessments and engineering readiness programs.
- Afloat Training Command experience preferred.
- Strong background knowledge of the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM) is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and briefing skills with the ability to provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
