Job Purpose:
The Controller will serve as Strativia’s chief accounting leader responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, compliance, and controllership across multiple contract types and entities. This role owns the monthly close, indirect rate design and monitoring, project accounting, billing/collections, treasury, audits, and financial policies. The Controller will lead financial system improvements and streamline joint venture accounting, while partnering with the CFO on annual operating plans, indirect rate development, cash forecasting, and executive-level reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close; deliver timely, accurate US GAAP financials.
  • Maintain a 5-day close calendar and reconciliation package; prepare monthly management reports (P&L by segment/contract type, indirect rate performance, cash metrics).
  • Facilitate the monthly financial review meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, DCAA/DCMA expectations, ASC 606 revenue, and ASC 842 leases.
  • Lead ICE preparation, provisional billing rates, audit responses, and policy documentation.
  • Design and monitor indirect cost pools; prepare forward pricing indirect rates and maintain the Forward Pricing Rate Package.
  • Partner with Pricing/Capture and PMs to protect margins; provide monthly provisional vs actual true ups.
  • Support AOP, re-forecasts, and scenario modeling.
  • Oversee Unanet project setup (WBS, ceilings, funding, CLINs, rev/billing methods) and timekeeping compliance.
  • Drive accurate, on-time invoicing (e.g., WAWF/iRAPT or customer portals), manage un-billed, and lead collections.
  • Guide EAC/ETC discipline with PMs; feed reliable forecasts to FP&A.
  • Run a rolling 13-week cash forecast; manage LOC reporting and covenant readiness.
  • Optimize DSO, un-billed, and subcontractor terms to support cash flow.
  • Integrate PROCAS JV data; record equity method or consolidation entries, inner company eliminations, and settlements.
  • Standardize accounting policies and controls across entities.
  • Own Unanet configuration for accounting; integrate payroll, banking, T&E, and BI.
  • Establish practical internal controls, SOPs, approval matrices; coordinate external financial audits and tax filings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of the monthly close in a GovCon environment.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, FAR/DFARS, DCAA/DCMA, ICE, and provisional billing rates.
  • Hands-on experience with Unanet; familiarity with PROCAS and JV accounting.
  • Demonstrated strength in indirect rate design/monitoring, project accounting, billing/collections, and audit readiness.
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency with BI/reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience scaling accounting processes and teams in high-growth GovCon organizations.
  • Prior leadership of external audits and bank covenant reporting.
  • Exposure to M&A diligence or integration.
