Job Function: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operate mail meter machine as required
Receive mail and packages during normal hours of operation; inspects, date stamp and sort mail as required
Ability to lift mail tubs weighing 30 to 50 pounds
Deliver mail/packages to the department and customers during the AM and PM mail runs, and ensure relevant parties sign off on all accountable mail during transfer of custody
Ensure outgoing mail is properly labeled and sealed and has the proper postage applied
Screen all incoming mail and packages for chemical and biological dangers, per the suspicious mail and package guidelines.
Utilize mail tracking software to receive, deliver, track, and provide current and historical data as necessary
Prepare (FedEx, UPS, DHL etc.) for overnight shipment as necessary
Contributes to an effective team environment, demonstrates the willingness to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals
Communicate with Lead Mail Clerk, and or Program Manager to provide feedback on status of work
Notify the Lead Mail Clerk or Program Manager when materials or machine maintenance is required
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
One year work experience with mail handling and distribution or experience in other areas which give evidence of ability to perform tasks required in this statement of work
Basic Computer Proficiency
