Lead Material Coordinator

Job Purpose:
The Lead Material Coordinator is responsible for managing all logistics and material handling activities, ensuring efficient coordination of personnel, equipment, and inventory. This position oversees daily operations within warehouse and facility environments while ensuring compliance with safety, security, and federal standards. The Lead Material Coordinator will also serve as the main point of contact for logistics-related tasks and supervise the performance of assigned staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all project logistics activities, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives align with contract requirements.
  • Lead and oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, issuing, transferring, and turn-in activities.
  • Plan, organize, and execute the movement of materials and equipment between warehouses, storage facilities, and other locations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through data entry and tracking in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
  • Evaluate third-party logistics vendors supporting moves, relocations, and surplus operations.
  • Drive government-provided vehicles to support deliveries and material transfers.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of events, ceremonies, and executive spaces as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MHE, and Forklift safety protocols.
  • Train and supervise logistics personnel to maintain high performance and accountability.
  • Respond to customer service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and agency representatives to resolve logistical issues and improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in facilities or logistics support services, including at least one (1) project or contract of similar complexity.
  • Certifications and Licenses:
    • Active Secret Clearance
    • Valid U.S. driver's license
    • Active Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification
    • Active OSHA certification
    • Active Forklift certification
  • Proven ability to lead logistics operations and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Keen attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance.
