Job Purpose: Strativia is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Support Specialist to support our client’s legal team. This role provides comprehensive technical and litigation support, with a focus on case management, trial preparation, and the application of legal technology tools. The specialist will work closely with Attorney Assistants, investigators, paralegals, and IT personnel to ensure effective management of case data and electronic discovery (ESI).
Responsibilities
Provide technical advice and consultation to litigation teams on automation options, legal technology, and trial presentation tools.
Coordinate with Attorney Assistants, investigators, and paralegals to develop project management strategies for organizing, reviewing, and producing case data.
Recommend and implement best practices for eDiscovery, case automation, and data handling.
Define and manage case databases for ESI processing, production, and trial presentation (e.g., Nuix, LAW Prediscovery, Eclipse, Relativity).
Organize voluminous case materials for efficient retrieval and secure storage through document indexing, OCR, deduplication, and quality control.
Provide trial support services, including creation of demonstrative exhibits, graphical presentations, and setup of courtroom presentation equipment.
Install, configure, and maintain litigation support systems and trial technology, ensuring availability and performance.
Collaborate with the Litigation Technology Support Center (LTSC) and external vendors as needed.
Conduct testing, quality assurance, and maintenance of litigation systems and tools.
Troubleshoot system issues and customize software or databases to meet user needs.
Monitor system usage, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve performance.
Evaluate emerging legal technologies, including analytics and presentation platforms, and recommend updates accordingly.
Assist in inventory management and maintenance of hardware including PCs, laptops, A/V devices, and specialized trial technology equipment.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of both civil and criminal litigation processes, including federal and local discovery rules.
Hands-on experience with eDiscovery tools and litigation support platforms (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, LAW).
Knowledge of IT/LS concepts, systems testing, visual design, imaging technology, and performance evaluation methods.
Familiarity with information security protocols, internet technologies, and requirement analysis.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal needs into technical solutions.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and operate in high-pressure trial environments.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience supporting litigation teams in a federal legal environment.
Experience managing ESI, configuring databases, and operating trial presentation systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, IT professionals, and external partners
