We are currently looking to hire a Legal Clerk to work for U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Louisiana

Job Description:

 Selected applicant will be a trained legal professional who examines voluminous amounts of documents relevant to pending litigation and on-going investigations.
The Document Review Clerk must assess the relevance or responsiveness of legal data with knowledge of the facts of the case and how they apply to the law.
Documents will be  in multiple forms to include paper and electronic documents including but not limited to, electronically stored information in databases, excel spreadsheets, emails, etc.
The reviewer will perform page-by-page review and analysis of documents and evidence and organize the information using manual files keeping an electronic database for final legal review.
Review and organizing of documents may include summarizing, tab, highlight, chart and collect certain documents or information gleaned from evidence as well as create discovery listings and privilege and redaction logs.
Later stages of document review seek to determine if the document is privileged as the basis of client-attorney communication or a work product, possibly editing or redacting the content of the information.

  •  Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  •  Required to satisfy all security requirements of the U.S. Attorney's Office prior to entering on duty. (Requires a background investigation which includes fingerprinting and a credit check). This investigation must be completed prior to starting work. Employment is contingent upon approval of security clearance.
